Year Three, Day 61: "Thou Shalt Not Steal!"

I woke up this morning with a weird feeling. I shook it off. My allergies have been bothering me big time.

I went out to the track, with my hoop to my favorite tree. Had a really good hoop workout this morning! Saw several "regulars" there...people walking their dogs, running, walking on the track. Most of them greeted me with a cheery "Good Morning!"

They are getting used to the strange hoop woman hooping by the tree every morning!

But when I got home, as I was uploading my video to Youtube, I suddenly recalled the words of a pastor from the first church that I worked as a church pianist. We were talking about copying music for the choir.  He asked if we had a copyright license. I was quite naive back then. I did not realize churches needed copyright licenses. I told him I didn't know, but did it matter, since we were not using the music for profit?

"Thou shalt not steal, Zita!" he said in his booming, God-like voice.

It was quite humbling.

I loved that pastor.  He was older and left after I was there a year. I believe he had cancer.  He is probably looking down from heaven at me. Guiding me to removed licensed music from my Youtube channel.

So I researched using copyrighted music on youtube. It is very tricky. Even if I am not profiting from my videos or my blog (I am not - it is for my own personal growth), one can get into a world of trouble from breaking copyright laws.

So, starting today, I will only use the sappy music provided royalty free by Youtube.

Sigh.

I was having so much fun hooping to classic rock!

It's kind of funny seeing me hoop to different music!

Well, I can still hoop to classic rock, I just can't post it on Youtube. Lesson learned.

Here I am today.  Originally I was hooping to "Proud Mary" by CCR and "Time" by Pink Floyd.  Just use the powers of your imagination...Sorry about the awkward silent parts. The tune I put in was much shorter...

Aside from that, today is Day 27 of daily hooping!  I really enjoy it! It gives me a reason to get up in the morning.

I was wondering as I walked to the track, if I should quite after a certain time period.  But I think not. I think I shall hoop daily until I die! It is only a few minutes out of my life and it seems to be improving my fitness level.

I am still planning on weight training at least 2 days a week. I seem to only have time on the weekends currently. But when I get my car, I plan on stopping at the gym first thing in the morning before I drive over to see my daughter and new granddaughter when she is born!

For now it is daily hooping for about 10 minutes, walking for about 2 miles and weight training 2-3 days a week.

In addition, I am not eating after 7:00 p.m., drinking tons of water, eating a lot of fruits, veggies and lean protein and avoiding white sugar, wheat, red meat and fried foods.

I've come a long way!

And now, off to my church office job.

I am wishing you a lovely Wednesday!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Love,

Zita :)

Year Three, Day 58: Marilyn Monroe's Measurements

Day 24 of daily hooping. I am determined to shrink these abs, if it is the last thing I do! Perhaps I should have that written on my tombstone: "Here lies Zita". Flat abs at last!! Well I certainly hope to attain my flat abs goal BEFORE I am dead and gone! Today's video was another rush job. But I downloaded some fun tunes to my Kindle last night.  I enjoyed my hoop session more listening to the Punjabi music. It reminded me of the "Maritime Bhangra Dancers".  If you haven't heard of them, you should look them up. They never fail to put a smile on my face! I am not smiling so much looking at this video. My hooping skills have improved a bit, but that menopot has got to go! After my hoop session, I walked 3/4 mile to the bus stop. I was planning on attending the 10:00 a.m. Mass at the Grotto, but it was cutting it close. Plus, I was feeling the need for a Starbucks iced tea.  Today was Iced Passionfruit/Black Tea, no sugar whatsoever.   The ic

Year Two, Day 274: I Like Me. RIP Packy!

Today's fruit of the spirit that I am focusing on is patience.  This I need more of. And coincidentally (or not), I read in my book Challenge: A Daily Meditation Program Based on the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius by Mark Link, S.J. the following: "I asked God to give me happiness, and God said, 'No.' He said that patience is a by-product of tribulation. It isn't granted, it is earned." Well, not to sound smug, but I am certainly earning my patience award!  :) I am having a good day, however I am a bit over caffeinated. I earned (patiently lol) a free latte today at Starbucks.  On a side note, I love being a regular customer. I walked into my regular Starbucks today, and one of the barista's yelled, "Zita!" from across the room. I felt like I was in an episode of "Cheers"! I love being recognized in a friendly manner. I had a venti "Smoked Butterscotch Latte with soy".   I have found the per

Year Four, Day 321: Pandemic Times Day 70, "Stay Home - Stay Safe" Day 57: Part I: I Need a Drink

Hi Friends:  After I posted my blog last night, I read conflicting information about the re-opening of Oregon. Yesterday, when I posted that all of Oregon was reopening, including Portland, but only stand alone retail stores, daycare and day camps for kids, I was referring to this article from the Oregonian:   https://www.oregonlive.com/coronavirus/2020/05/all-of-oregon-including-portland-can-reopen-friday-to-some-extent-questions-answered.html I had read that Governor Brown had extended Oregon's State of Emergency until July 6th. But that is different than her stay at home order. Which is in effect until "further notice". https://www.kgw.com/mobile/article/news/health/coronavirus/oregon-state-of-emergency-versus-stay-home-order-whats-the-difference/283-95a91ace-9580-40ee-a8b6-727c6bec3216 Of course, then there was the judge who said Kate Brown's restrictions were null and void: "A judge in rural Oregon tossed out statewide coronavirus restric
