I am at the library after teaching all day. I made stop here to read the breaking news on Syria. After the horrendous chemical attack on Syrian citizens, in which 85 people died, many of which were children, our government has decided to bomb the Syrian regime. I admit, I am thinking strong measures need to be taken. The photos of the suffering of the Syrian people are heart breaking, and difficult to view. I do not understand the whole situation or politics concerning Syria, Assad and Russia and what our role is. It is like the big knot in my ball of yarn I was trying to untangle the other day.
I hope that our involvement does not cause my suffering of the innocent in Syria.
I am not going to blog about myself today. I am going to leave it here.
And I am going to go home and pray. After I call my mother. Amazingly it was my daughter that called my about the bombing. Usually I am the first in the family to spread the breaking news. But I was with a student.
Today, my fruit of the spirit was "kindness". And if I can spread a little love and kindness in my little corner of the world, maybe it will make a difference.
I will talk to you tomorrow.
Peace and love and God bless this whole world. May we see an end to suffering in this lifetime.
Peace,
Zita
