It boggles my mind how time is flying. The only time I leave my home is to take a walk in the park across the street for a few minutes each day.
Otherwise, I've been locked up for 12 straight days since the governor of my state made the "Stay Home-Stay Safe" Proclamation.
Yesterday, the CDC recommended wearing a cloth mask covering out face and nose when we needed to go out.
Today the numbers were higher than ever:
Total Confirmed Cases: 1,205,869
Total Deceased: 65,128
4/4/2020, 11:23 p.m.
The authorities are predicting that we will be achieving the peak in covid-19 cases in the next 2 weeks, but until then we will.continue to see the numbers rise.
Hopefully we will be out of the woods shortly after that.
Until then, I have committed to using my time more wisely. Now that the initial shock, disbelief and depression has worn off, I am determined to make the best of this time while I am still alive and kicking!
Today I finally pulled out the ukulele I've been dragging around for the last 5 years. I sat down with a method book and some YouTube videos and played me some uke!
I had a blast! My granddaughter was so curious about this cute little stringed instrument. I taught her "You Are My Sunshine". I might even record us and share, after we've practiced a bit more!
After a while, she got bored with my practicing my strumming pattern Nd went back to her Magna Doodle (which arrived via Amazon yesterday). Next week she should receiving her veterinarian play set.
That's something I'm enjoying about this isolation - more time with granddaughter. I have a feeling on my death bed, these will.be some of my fondest memories.
After playing uke, and pushing granddaughter on a kitchen chair, pretending to be a train, I worked on arranging some pieces on the piano for students.
I decided to take a break before blogging. I went online and looked up "corona virus songs".
nd there I remained for at least an hour. There are corona virus parody songs galore! Times like these do bring out the creative side of humanity!
One of my favorites:
And this one:
Please pray for our world, the suffering, the grieving, the doctors, nurses, first responders and me.
I will pray for you all too.
We are all in this together. Let's pray we all emerge together: kinder, more grateful and more aware.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Love,
Zita
