Dear Friends:
Day 29.
I can't believe how full my days are! I have picked up a few more students. And although I do enjoy online teaching, I find it is more strenuous than teaching in person. There's the strain of peering into the camera to see fingers on piano keys, there is often a sound delay, and it is not as easy to get my point across. So I find myself sending many videos that I've recorded of their pieces as well as written assignment.
So even though when I go off to work, I don't have to fight any traffic, I makeup for time commuting with time prepping and follow up.
I just found out today, that the Community Music Center will be closed until June 4th and possibly longer for in-person classes. So that means my end of the year student recital in June will be canceled. This saddens me, but I accept it. There is a glimmer of hope, the board of directors for the Music Center is considering allowing us teachers to teach online during the summer. We haven't heard as far ahead as the fall, but I guess we will just wait to see what this pandemic does.
Speaking of the big "P" word, I've been hearing how many sources that there have been some peculiar symptoms that are similar with all coronavirus patients. One is is blood clotting, another is cold toes, and another one is a rash. I've always already mentioned that people often lose their sense of taste and smell. This is a very very peculiar virus. I've heard from many sources also that it is highly unlikely that this was created in a lab or that it even escaped from a lab. So that will probably shutdown some of the conspiracy theories. I take that back, conspiracy theories will always run rampant, especially in times like these.
On a different and more positive note, I ran again today! I've already increased my time. I'm still just doing a little bit over a lap, but as I get stronger I hope to increase that.
And on that note I must say good evening. I am very tired and I hope to get up early tomorrow to start my day with a nice run. I wish you a lovely evening in the best of health and I am praying for you and the whole world.
Love,
Zita
