Beijing Hot Pot for dinner. We had spicy broth on one half and regular broth on the other. Shabu shabu at its best! |
Today I experienced the morning after.
A fabulous concert. Seriously the best ever. I had sweated bullets about this one. Our chamber music group devoted an entire concert to music composed by African American women.
And the pieces were not easy. Challenging. Outside of my comfort zone.
Yet, speaking of zones, I miraculously got there right before the concert. Into my zone.
I told some of the others at our post concert gathering (Hopworks, cranberry pear hard cider and pouline!), that I compare being in my musical zone to surfing. Most of the time I am paddling, trying to get up on that big wave. Then once I am there, I am in the moment. I know it will not last. But I am there. One with the wave. And during that time, time ceases to exist. I am speaking through my instrument.
We had a good crowd. Nearly 90 people. Which is huge for a small, new chamber music group.
I will probably talk more another day. I am tired today. Post concert blues.
But I got up and went to church. And lunch (cashew shrimp at HoHo). Tomorrow I start back on my healthy home cooked meal regime. Yet again.
After lunch, I enjoyed a wonderful nap with Honey Dog. Then my son and I went out to dinner.
Another "hidden" Portland find! The Beijing Hot Pot. For shabu shabu. Divine!

I will talk about this more tomorrow.
We just finished watching an incredible movie. "The Bridge of Spies" with Tom Hanks. Directed by Steven Spielberg. AMAZING!
And about this I will talk tomorrow.
But for now I bid you adieu.
Good night!
