I had a talk with my brother yesterday. He's a pharmacist. I asked him his opinion on long term NSAID use for chronic pain. He echoed the concerns of my nurse practitioner friend. I need to consider my kidneys. He said he wouldn't recommend taking Ibuprofen every single day, even at a low dosage. Just as needed for pain.
He told me there was a better NSAID that I could take. It would require a prescription, but would help take the edge off of my joint pain without being so rough on my kidneys. He's coming over for super bowl Sunday. He'll give me more information then. I guess it's back to thehe doc for me!
I only took 200mg before bed last night. I am feeling less stiff this morning. Will stretch and try to make it through the day without another dose. Someday I shall find balance!
But what if I am in constant pain? I asked.
